Honors presented at Cooperative of Pindos APSI annual members gathering in Greece
EDINBURGH, Scotland – Aviagen® announces that four parent stock farmers from Greece’s Cooperative of Pindos APSI (Agricultural Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina Pindos) have earned a place in the prestigious Ross® 162 Club. The recognition is given to breeder growers who achieve the exceptional milestone of producing 162 or more chicks per hen housed at 60 weeks with their Ross parent stock flocks.
Widely regarded as an industry benchmark for balanced performance, Ross genetics support productivity alongside strong bird health and welfare standards. For customer flocks completed in 2025, the awarded farmers delivered outstanding results of 174, 167, 165 and 162 chicks per hen housed at 60 weeks. The honorees were:
- Georgoulas Konstantinos (174)
- Kyrkou Stamatia (167)
- Kalyvas Dimitrios (165)
- Tzolou Olga (162)
These results reflect their outstanding commitment to excellence in flock management, bird health, welfare and sustainable production.
The awards were presented on Feb. 7, 2026, during the Cooperative of Pindos annual members gathering in Greece. Stefanou Achilleas, Technical and Commercial Manager for Greece and Cyprus, represented Aviagen and presented the awards.
“It was an honour to participate in this year’s annual gathering and to recognize the outstanding efforts of these producers,” said Achilleas. “Reaching and surpassing 162 chicks per hen housed at 60 weeks is a significant accomplishment that highlights both the genetic potential of Ross parent stock and the high level of management applied on these farms. Such results are only possible through dedication, attention to detail, and strong collaboration across the production chain.”
He added, “I would like to sincerely thank the Cooperative of Pindos for our longstanding cooperation and for the invitation to be part of this special event. I would also like to thank Thomas Paparounis, Head of Veterinary Services of Pindos APSI, for his continued support. I look forward to returning next year to celebrate even greater achievements.”
Lorenzo Rossi, General Manager of Aviagen Italia SRL, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Cooperative of Pindos and its farmers for their exceptional commitment and professionalism.
“Through hard work, dedication, and a strong focus on best management practices, the Cooperative and its members have demonstrated their ability to maximize the genetic potential. Their results stand as a testament to the power of collaboration, technical expertise, and continuous improvement within the poultry sector.”
