Events in Quito and Guayaquil welcome 200 customers to explore management, welfare and sustainability best practices

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Colombia continued its “Knowledge without Borders” series last month with two dynamic events in Ecuador, bringing together nearly 200 customers in Quito and Guayaquil. Led by Aviagen Colombia’s Sales and Technical Services Manager, Andrés Parra, the gatherings focused on practical strategies to strengthen poultry performance, welfare and sustainability.

The events were organized by the Aviagen Colombia team and offered an engaging mix of presentations and open dialogue — part of the company’s ongoing effort to support producer success across Latin America.

“The Ecuador edition continued to offer in-depth, hands-on content in a dynamic and interactive environment,” said Parra. “The goal of this series is to promote knowledge exchange that directly benefits our customers in the field.”

In the afternoon, attention turned to broiler performance. Technical Specialist Wilson Gómez spoke about boosting productivity through simple management improvements. “Everyday decisions on the farm can make a big difference to overall flock outcomes,” he said.

Luz Patricia Urrea, Broiler Technical Services Specialist, spoke about supporting broiler resilience with a focus on bird welfare. “Strong livability starts with closely understanding and responding to the chicken’s needs at every stage of life,” she shared.

She presented a detailed look at how conditions in the field can impact quality at the processing stage. She emphasized the importance of careful handling to reduce stress and promote welfare throughout.

To close the sessions, Parra offered a market update and emphasized the value Aviagen places on collaboration. “We’re proud to support our customers not just with quality breeding stock, but with knowledge, synergy, and a shared commitment to ongoing improvement,” he concluded.
